savage stevens 30 favorite takedown

Anyone have one of these? How you like it? I read they're stiff and not to smooth with horrible trigger pull. However I was thinking of adding one as a just to have a rolling block rimfire.

is it possable to do a trigger job on them without too much dificulty?

I had one. Terrible trigger, but crazy accurate. A man who calls himself a gunsmith in melfort has stolen it from me. I wish I had it back, it was a good little rifle.

Well it's not a rolling block but a type of falling block, and my .17 HMR was very accurate.

I bought mine probably four and a half years ago, I haven't actually seen them for sale since. Mine wasn't the take down model, but I haven't seen either. If I did I'd buy another, although they were a lot of money for the gun. Good shooter but really cheap as far as fit and finish/stock. It was very difficult to close the action, the barrel was set too deep in the receiver. I drifted out the barrel pin and made mine into a takedown that way, and the clearancing I did seemed to cure it.

i do believe wholesale carries them. i have the regular action, havnt shot it yet tho.

I'd settle for a non take down as well. I'd like to play around and have it case coloured really nicely and get some sweet aaa wood on it. That way if I mess up I won't ruin a nice gem lol. Thanks guys
