I meant to post this here but i put it in the general area by accident anyways...

I really love the stock of the Savage 93R17 BVSS but the grey laminate stock only comes in a .17hmr. If i were to buy a standard .22lr mark II barrel and action would it fit in the 17hmr series of stocks?

Also do dealers have the ability to purchase stocks and actions seperately from savage arms?

Thanks for any help you can offer!

I called savage and it will be roughly 200 for the stock, screws, trigger guard, and plate.

I called back and another guy answered which was quite rude and told me that I cannot order a mark II barrel and action seperately? He didn't seem very educated on the topics does anyone know if it is possible to order a Savage gun piece by piece through a firearms dealer?

Also do you need a PAL to buy a stock? I'm waiting on mine to clear...

Don't need a PAL for a stock. As far as piece by piece I don't think so. Have you looked at boyds gunstocks? Or try revolution stocks as well. Hope that helped

Mark 2

Not sure exactly what you are trying to do, but here is what I did. I bought a Mark 2 GV in 17m2 used from a fellow CGN. It is identical to my Mark 2 BV in 22lr, but had the cheap birch stock. Both of these are bull barrel. I ordered a Thumbhole stock for the 93 from Boyds. Had to do some minor inletting as there are some differences. I ordered a trigger guard from Savage and did some monor modification to the bottom metal. Was not that difficult to figure out. Rinfirecentral has all the details.

Funny thing I think Savage is made in Canada (parts) so I call Savage in Canada and got transfered to the US and that is where the parts came from. Go figure.

What phone number are you guys using to order parts direct from savage? I need a trigger guard for my new boyds stock. :D
