savage tork specs

Call Savage and they will tell you. It depends on your stock. Or try looking on Savageshooters.com
Sorry I am not more help.

Hand tight with common sense is the best answer. If you tighten them down to exactly 30 inch pounds on an uneven surface it won't do any good. For those that have theirs bedded properly, and really need a number to help them sleep, anything between 30-60 inch pounds. You won't find a spec at the savage forum, not an official forum recommended one at least.

Cheers

All savage stocks come pillar bedded and usually a good fit. So firm hand tight is plenty. However, for best performance, these rifles should be bedded otherwise the action is really balancing on two points.

Once properly bedded, firm hand tight is more then enough. If you need heavy torque, there is something inherently wrong with that bedding system.

action screws keep the action from coming out of the stock. The Bedding holds the action in place.
