"SAVAGE" Ugly girls get love too!

I inherited a 40+ yr old M110 Savage in .270 from my late uncle. He used that rifle to take many whitetails and mulies,a couple of moose and several elk.

After getting that rifle, I sold my own "###ier" .270,a M700 Rem, because I thought I owed it to him to keep that old rifle hunting. It's still a great shooter. The blueing is thinned in places and the stock finish is worn right off in spots. I keep debating whether or not I should re-finish it or just keep it ticking along as it is.

You're preaching to the converted with me. I own several Savages and have no intention to convert!

A pretty gun is one thing but there's nothing wrong with looking at pretty groups! Nice shootin'...

Here's one of my hunters and a target popper...

I just had my new Savage 111 FCXP3 (you know, the cheap one without the Accu Trigger, but with the detachable mag and the Simmons scope) out to the range and I am quite pleased with the .75" group I got out of it. It has the lighter barrel and only weighs 6.5 pounds without scope but it likes the Remington Core Lokt 30.06 150 gr. factory load.

It has a heavy but crisp trigger. Very pleased for $400 and no tax at Cabela's boxing day sale.

Here's some pic's of my girl "Buttons" (named for the SS Philip's button heads) .338 Win Mag. Should be good for deer out to 150 to 200 yards.;)
-Richard's thumbhole stock
-Picatinney rail drilled and tapped for 10/32 flatheads
-Devcon bedded with pillars
-Bushnell 3200
-Burris tactical mounts
-Napkin holder not included
