^i would agree, but I would like the opportunity to shoot one of the newer B22s. I can't imagine the built quality is much better (though I have an open mind about it) but the design appears to be...if only improved ergonomics. There was just a pile of room for improvement in that regard, 10 minutes with a synthetic Mark II stock would show you that quick!

I used to feel very differently about Savage centerfires, only because my .223 has been an absolute laser beam. Build quality was/is rough compared to a comparably priced Remington 700...but boy, does it shoot! That prompted me to get a Savage 10 Predator in .243 that ended-up having headspace issues right out of the gate. (new gun too)
So, as the "new gear" budget seems to shrink every year along with the amount of time I have to actually GO shooting...the desire to compromise shrinks too. For that reason, "fewer/better guns is sort of where my sensibilities are heading. Based on having 2 Savage centerfires and at least 5 Savage rimfires in the last 7-8 years or so, I'm not sure Savage will play a very big role in my life going forward. The .223 stays though. Allot of groundhogs have been sent to the great hay field in the sky thanks to that thing.
