What are the differences between Savage model 10/110 rifles and Stevens model 200s? Are they the same barrels? The receivers look similar in the pictures on the Savage Arms web site - are they the same actions? What is the trigger like on a Stevens model 200?

Same action and same trigger as the savage before the accutrigger. The stock is made of a different coloured tupperware.
 
Stevens 200 is basically a old Savage 110.Bare bones utilty rifle that are apparently pretty darn accurate and for $320.00+ or - are a good value
 
Actual actions are identical (Except for the machineing for the accutrigger) I have just switched a Stevens 200 in .223 and a 10LFP in .308. I wanted a left hand .223! The switch took me less that 15 minutes complete with removing both barrels from thier respective actions and reinstalling on the actions I wanted them on complete with headspacing. What a great system!!!

If so, is the only difference that you're paying $200 for an accutrigger:eek:!!!

Are there replacement triggers and stocks out there for Savage/Stevens? I just had a quick look through my Brownell's catalog and didn't find much. But beyond that I don't know where to look.

There are at least 3 brands of replacement triggers for savage / stevens. Sharpshooter Supply is a decent one at a good price (under $100.00).

There's other variations in the receivers as well. Flat vs round top. Some guns were flat on one end where the scope mount sits and round on the other (like my pre-accutrigger savage). Others were round on both ends. So make sure you order the right scope mount for your exact gun.

I think you are right, that the Stevens always has the round / round. I just wanted him to be aware that if he buys a Savage scope mount, he'd better make sure its not a round / flat, as that's a way they can differ between Stevens and Savage.
