I followed your suggestion and sent Matt an email outlining the issues and the previous experience with Savage; I await his reply. If I can get it running it's a keeper; if not, it is time to send it down the road.

He is their senior gunsmith on staff, never had an issue with Savage Canada Warranty, always 100%.

People who do not follow up on their warranty requests are only hurting themselves. We no longer live in a world where everything works as it should, lots of mistakes by employees.

As a retired gun shop dealer, I sold five Savage firearms to every other manufacturer, Henry took a close second when they are available. I would recommend Savage guns to anyone, just follow up on your warranty concerns.

Just because a few folks have had issues with a certain firearms manufactures, does not make that manufacturer bad. Make your own choice!.....

If I paid 1000 dollars for it, maybe; seriously, it is not worth my time. Watch for the rifle and the big mag in the EE in the next week or two. Big mag included for what it is worth: $0.00. LOL
