hey guys I see the Savages are more common of there , than here... Ive come across a Second hand .270 Winchester in Left Handed Model 116? Stainless with Plastic stock.

Whats the real world - Field use reports from this gun?

Am I right in seeing it only has a 22 inch barrel? Is the detatch mag like a Savage Axis? (only real prior experience with Savage)

Im looking for a Gun to shoot a fair bit, I have a lot of .270 reloading stuff , so a fair bit will be just shooting targets at range.... get used to the Left hand gun. ETC

for $560 plus $35 freight, plus proberly $30 transfer fee..... so around $600 before Scope, im seriously a contender I think?

any reason not too?

GO!

Hey go for it
I have 2 weather warriors 223 ad 30-06
These rifles shoot great, they have the acu trigger, and accu stock . That's a good price for that 270 . Now spend the money on good rings and mount, then your scope

I have 2 LH 116's, a .223 and a .243. Neither has a detachable mag (both are floorplates) but they topload very quickly and easily.

I wouldn't hesitate if you feel the price is fair.

I had a lefty 16 for a while, it was ok, wasn't really in love with it. Drank the cool aid, shoot a tikka now, happier with it, but the savages shoot good groups usually.

It is in AUD I should mention, but its still well priced for an aussie firearm.

Yeah, Regardin the Transfer fee, all our Rifles are on a Firearm Registry and we have to present a filled out form ( Permit to Acquire) to give your reason / evidence for the rifle which you want to purchase.. which can take a week or 3 depending, You then present the form to the gun shop and the final exact details can be changed eg. you thought Abolt .270 but ended up keen on T3 .270 - you have 28 days to use that permit - if you decide you want a 3006 then you gotta do it all again for another permit an just not pay the $15.00 permit fee to 'activate' it..

Then you actually get Charged by the Gun store to Fill the papers out and send the Paper work to the Gun Registry to file it an that can Vary from - No kidding.... $15 to $75 at shops discretion... $25 avg. shop around or know a bloke behind the counter!

every Serial number is on file to a licensed firearm owners license number... that's the Law abiding citizens anyway..... not many deer hunting rifles have been used in West Sydney shootings I could bet.

You a lefty too whelan lad?

I had the 16 for a while in .325 WSM, I dont miss it. I picked up a tikka 93x62 Hunter blued/walnut in lefty the other year, so much happier, half a year later found my holy grail, a steyr fullstock in left hand, though its 30-06 but gonna get it rebored to the 9.3x62 as well and then sell the Tikka, but the tikka is gonna be hard to sell as its growing on me too.
