Savage~what finish on the 93 17 "TR" model?

Might be interested in picking one of these up, a tacti-cool .17 (almost laughed tying that) HMRs. I have a 93R17 BTV with a blued finish, the "TR" and "TRR" rifles look almost parkerized in the photos. Doubt Savage would spend that much, probably paint...but thought I'd ask...

Don't have the answer to your question but when I started looking around for one, none of the main dealers had them in stock. They would order one for me and if the supplier had one...it would take 3-4wks(or more!)
I ended up buying a 10/22VLEH and couldn't be happier.

I have a TRR. I think its just paint. Its a very nice finish though.

I have the TR in .22lr. The finish is referred to as 'matte bluing', it is NOT paint. The finish is very similar to a remington 870 express, but MUCH nicer.
