Saving up for a Colt Python

After much self-pity, I have decided to save up for a 6" blued Python to replace the one I had to sell two years ago. I know that it will be quite expensive, but I just gotta have one again. To give me some balanced motivation, what would be a realistic Canadian price for one in really good condition, though not necessarily NIB?

Many thanks,
Albertacowboy

with the walking dead franchise being what it is your gonna be lucky if you see them for under 2k a pop.

was just looking on one of the gun auction sites and they where between 2.5-5.5k per for the VG condition ones.

well used ones where 1.5-2k

I wouldn't mind a Python myself, but the inflated prices people are asking for them are ridiculous. They are a nice gun, but in my opinion, not worth the prices folks are asking.

Wait till The Walking Dead is cancelled. I think once people forget about Rick Grimes and his zombie killing Python, prices will go back to reasonable.

Back when Pythons were $750 and S&W 586's were $450 I thought Python's were a bit over priced for what you really got.

Now the prices on Python's have just gone way beyond stupid. If you want one & have the $$ to pay for it though, then why not go for it?

It's whatever floats your boat.

What you really got was a factory tuned trigger. Don't think they're worth the extra money for a trigger job either.
Any Python will be used these days. Discontinued in 2005.
There was a prohibited 4" Python at Kelly's(Inwood, Ontario) back in 2013 for $1499.99Cdn. Give you an idea of close to current values.
Marstar is listing a 2.5" at $1,950.00.

Query:

Sunray, have you ever once owned or continue to own any Colt DA revolver?

Just curious.....

To the OP, if you wish for a good Colt trigger with a SA pull like a glass rod, try to find a good used and not abused Colt Model 3-5-7.
Same hand fitted internals as the Python, even takes the same grips and accepts the exact same speedloader, but without the inflated price.

The only Python I'd consider buying is the Walking Dead one that can be shot dozens of times without seemingly needing a reload. :p

Prohib prices don't mean squat versus the price of a restricted. There is so little market for prohib, prices are more reasonable.

More than anything... the Python is a collector's item now.... If u gonna spend the big bucks get the really rare E-Nickel one... if u can find it... I got one in 8 inch but the prices of those are crazy now...

6 years ago I had a colt ultimate stainless python for sale excellent condition with original box and I couldn't get $1000.00.They are nice revolvers but not near worth what they are selling.
