Not really a short barreled shotgun. 18" is a pretty standard barrel length for a singleshot or manual repeater.

Definately a shorty though at 23.5" OAL, and if the CFC are letting it go as non restricted, based on it being a single shot, well... thats awesome.

It may not have many practical uses, but I dont judge.

Maybe you should quit trying to make witty posts and try calling yourself then. I want to order one of these just to shut they naysayers in this thread wrong. So I called Frontier too, WHAT YA KNOW IT'S UNRESTRICTED
 
If anyone has one of these and a DA backpacker, I'd be interested to know if the barrels are swappable, and the forestock. My DA forestock comes off (not dramatically) about once every 25 rounds, and I havnt bothered to fix it yet.

And the answer is NO!!!!
 
Do you own both? The mechanicals of the Rossi single shot and DA Backpacker are almost identical. If the barrels are the same, then I would expect the forestock to have a similar attachment method. If you owned both, you could then switch the forestock from the Rossi onto the DA to see if it has issues staying on with the shorter barrel.

I'm gonna say this very simply. The "mechanicals" may be similar but the hand fitting is going the be different. If you want to try it be my guest............

Oh and the FRT number is for that barrel length if you call the cfc and ask for a new FRT for the 12.5" barrel on the Rossi......guess what buttercup you just created a prohibited firearm.....

I know that it would make a prohib, thats why I said I want to see if the forestock would be interchangable, the barrel question is to see if its workable

Do you really think either of these guns were "hand fitted"? You are right though they would doubtfully interchange.

I looked around and can't find the legislation on single shot firearms. My internet isn;'t all that fast out here either and I gave up due to s-l-o-w-n-e-s-s

Whats the legal distinction for a sub-660mm single shot?

I'm gathering its the same legal distinction for any manually operated firearm.
