Saweet 50 Cal!

well, i guess i'm to blame for throwing the post's topic on a detour. my apologies.
argueing about ferraris and sunbirds is about right though.
these $10,000 guns are about as unreachable [to men who want to stay happily married] as owning an exotic sports car.
i just wanted to know why barrett's are coming into canada, but not a Serbu bolt action [for around half the cost, and about 25% of an AI .50]/
...and no one seems to have an answer.

Kevin M told me that the Serbu's are hard to get cuz the US demand is very high for them right now. He has one of the only one's in the country. Canada is very low on most gun makers lists. Until the Yanks slow down a bit we won't be getting anything reasonably priced.

Eih, the problem I've always had with .50 BMG is you pretty much have to be loaded to afford the associated cost. Despite the $5000-12,000 initial startup cost, you will always have the absurd cost of ammo. I entertain the thought of getting one from time to time, but then I remember I make $16 an hour and still live at home.

I'll stick with my milsurps for now.

It gets a little tiresome when every thread about a gun over $2,000 or so turns into a complaining festival by those who can't afford it.

I'm sure most here have spent $10,000 on beer. Smokers have spent more than that on cigarettes (5 years for a half pack a day smoker).

What about the polar opposite when people start complaining about folks who buy Norcs? "Just spend a few hundred more and get the real deal!"

You just can't win around here.

100 percent agreed!

With the exception perhaps of the Norinco M305...$500 vs $2000-3000 for a Springfield Armory one? I'll take my Chinese GI rifle over one worth one month of salary, please.

still missing the point, ...options, gentlemen, options. cadillacs for the rich, chevies for the rest of us.
yes, mr.wolverine, good on ya, bringing in a caddy. just asking for somethin' us worhin folk can drive too, is all.

I'm reminded of that Cadillac commercial wherein the young lad sees one going by on the street and dreams of some day owning one. Then there's this:

Haha, I love how you chose one of THE most overpriced, poseur douchebag exotic cars on the market for your comparison.

"Defeated", before the starting gate even opens,:sok2, sad.

Ferraris weren't always that way. They just became so over time since their target market cares more about image and exclusivity rather than actual performance. There are much better cars to dream about.

And yes, it is properly spelled "poseur"; look it up.
