Im Ben,

I got my restricted/non restricted PAL a couple of years ago and ive been getting more and more into long range shooting. Ive watched the entire 'sniper 101' series on youtube, which is interesting for me since I have a physcis background. My girlfriend grew up doing a lot of hunting and its always been something that I wanted to get into. I currently own a rem 870 (bear defense when im working in camp in the Yukon) and a savage model 64 which I have been wanting to get rid of. Ive been doing a lot of research lately into what calibers I want to shoot and ive decided on 300 win mag (long range target shooting and big game hunting) and 243 win (varmint/medium game hunting and cheap long range shooting). I plan to do extensive handloading for each caliber. Im really leaning towards a weatherby vanguard series 2 for the 300 mag and id like to get a heavy barrel varmint style rifle for the 243. Im happy to be a new member of this forum and I look forward to learning more about all of this stuff.

Thanks guys. I hope you all had a good holiday season. Santa was good to me this year: Weatherby Vanguard 2 30-06, vortex viper 2.5-10x44, talley 30mm med rings, lee challenger reloading kit+ all the accessories that go along with it.

Time to break in the new rifle and do some serious load development!

Welcome to CGN. ;)
