SB Dies for Bolt Action?

I've sold my 308win semi auto rifle and may replace it with a bolt action of the same caliber.
So, my question is, can I use my SB dies to size cases that will be used in a bolt action rifle?
What can I expect in terms of accuracy or lack there of? Any damage to the chamber of the bolt action rifle either in the short or long term? Any thing that I should be aware of? Is this just a stupid idea because I'm to cheap to buy a new set of FL dies?

If you sell them on the EE you can probably buy a normal set as SB dies sell for a bit of a premium over ordinary dies, and as mentioned before you will probably get a bit more life out of the dies.
 
I don't think you will damage your rifle as you are simply shooting minimum size brass that with in SAMMI spec. If you chamber is at minimum spec great, but if it is a max dmension then the brass life will be shorter.
 
Instead of having the die kiss the shell holder when the press over cams, screw the die up so there is a small gap between the die and shell holder. Place a dime on the shell holder (offset from center so you don't break your depriming pin) and set it up so the die kisses the dime when over cammed).
You might be able to get 4-5 loadings out of your brass before you need to bump the shoulder back. When that time comes reset the die to kiss the shell holder and resize as normal.
 
SB dies are just that, small base. I don't wee why not setting back the shoulder, or just neck sizing, has anything to do with it.
SB dies just make the diameter of the cartridge a bit smaller, for ease of operating in some actions, other than bolt.
 
Keep your small base dies and pick up a "Single Neck Sizer die"

Use the Neck Sizer to size all your bolt action brass till you have problems closing the bolt
then Full length size and trim them go back to Neck Sizing

let us know how many times you load the same pc of Brass
 
I've got small base dies, small base body dies, and small base FL bushing dies. In my case it has a whole lot more to do with tight chambered custom barrels than being a cheap-skate.

Cases and dies are both tapered, so partial sizeing will size the diameter less as well. Kinda like sticking a carrot partway back in the hole.
