Well I finally took the plunge and shelled out my overtime fund for a SBE II that I have been looking at and wanting for years. Thought I need a 3.5" for big Canada's.

It has a home in my shotgun collection which consists of from top to bottom.
1. SBE II birds, birds, and some clays
2.Berretta A390 Sporting Target DU banquet gun
3.Ithaca SKBXL900 for trap and upland
4. 870 3" pump in camo DU banquet gun

Have test shot it with 3.5" shells and it kicks pretty good. I don't think you would want to fire them all day. It cycled all ammo very well, I interchanged 2 3/4 and 3" and 3.5" and it ate everything perfectly.
Stripped it down in minutes and it was not even dirty after 50 rounds, learning curve, the residue goes out the barrel and not out a gas piston like the beretta and cause more fouling.
Will try it also for clays, it came with 5 chokes but I went and bought a Briley Light Mod for shooting sporting clays. That is what I also shoot in my Beretta.

I love my SBE II, it aint cheap to buy but it is a phenomenal machine. I shoot lots of trap and skeet. My SBE never jams and I see other shooters with semi autos from various other manufacturers, plagued by jams.
It has very few moving parts compared to other semis. The simplicity and reliability is what you pay for.
You will love yours too!

If you dont mind me asking... how much would i expect to pay for the same gun but with the steady grip. Also, where would be the best place to purchase the gun? I'm living in the London area

24" SUPER BLACK EAGLE II TIMBER HD STEADY GRIP $2,195.00

I bought mine at Shooters Choice in Waterloo, this is the price they are quoting
with steady grip

Hey its true, all the junk goes out the barrel and there is less stuff to clean than with a gas operated semiautomatic. No wonder I shoot around 200 shells through mine and then it is not really dirty when I clean it.
Honestly I've been kinda worried that I was not cleaning it right.
This SBE II is fantastic value for the money (and I know it is a steep purchase).

Remington 870 Magnum

What is the make of the shotgun at the bottom of this pic? I love the camo-pattern! :D

Hi Otokiak, you are a long way from Brandon, Manitoba. Nice to talk to you.

That bottom gun is a Remington 870 3" Magnum pump that I bought at a Ducks Unlimited supper a few years back. You can see the duck head on the reciever indicating a DU model. Came with three chokes and I may be wrong but it almost looks like a realtree hardwoods camo pattern.

For birds around here, I am now buying mostly max 4-D patterns like that Benelli on top.

I have had my SBEII for two waterfowl seasons now and wouldn't trade it for anything!! I absolutely love it and as mentioned already, it is the easiest gun to clean. It has never failed me, even in -20 degree weather shooting ducks and geese.

If anyone has seen the Duck Commander videos, Benelli is what they use as well and they absolutely abuse the guns in some of their videos. I've had mine for about 2 seasons and have been very impressed with it. I have to lock it up in the safe when my Dad comes over cause he keeps trying to leave with it...buy your own Dad.

The fast clean up is really nice as well.
