SBR AR15 Suggestions

I just Bought my wife her first AR. It's a Sig 516 with the piston driven 7.5" barrel. Have not had a single issue with it. Kinda wishing I bought it for myself...........But I really want to get a LWRC m6 PDW and now how can she say no? It will be mine. Oh yes! It will be mine!

I basically made one myself. :p

Reading this thread has me a little nervous of what to expect when I go to shoot my new upper. It's a DDMK18 upper on a BCM Mod 0 lower. I had it on my DDM4V5 upper and it ran great, but buffer weight issues has me questioning how it will perform with the SBR upper.

I assembled my own, using a Noveske 7.5" Diplomat barrel, and a Troy PDW stock kit. I don't have any feed issues really, well at least no more then my other AR's, even factory AR's like my DD MK18. If I do have feeding issues its more related to the magazines as I was using mostly Beowolf mags that sometimes have follower tilting issues...

I also have a PSA 7.5" upper in 7.62x39 that runs flawlessly with an H2 buffer

And I am currently waiting on some parts that are back ordered for a new project 7.5" AR using Battle Arms Development 7.5" barrel

What kind of problem are you worried about? MK18's are 10.5" barrels, should run flawlessly on any lower as long as you have the correct buffer weight. I believe a standard MK18 comes with a H buffer from Daniel Defense.

I run my PSA 7.5" 7.62x39 upper on my DD MK18 lower, all I do is swap out the buffer for a heavier

Buffers are cheap I have H, H1, and H2....So I just swap them and see what functions best with whatever upper and ammo I am using

I'm not sure what buffer weight my lower has in it right now- I think it's just an H

I am almost positive the MK18 comes with an H, Id have to go home to check. But you should be fine with an H, worst case senerio buy or try to borrow different weight buffers. Like I said I have invested in 3, H, H1, H2....And all I do is swap the buffer for the upper and ammo Im using at that time in that lower...

I think youll be fine

EDIT looks like it does use an H buffer

What buffer weight are you running on that now? I grabbed a 7" psa upper in 7.62x39 from irunguns mated to an MVB arc which iirc is an H1 I have yet to shoot it though.

Ignore the pmag it's just for pics

H1 should work fine, Ive shot it with H and H2. I have only shot American Eagle brass through it so far as I bought bulk ammo cans of it. You can tune with a heavier buffer if its cycling too fast, or getting funny brass ejection. If its too heavy it can short cycle

Good purchase! for the money I paid for that upper, I am really impressed with the quality and how well it shoots. I only have about 500 rounds through it, but its been completely flawless so far...I just wish factory brass ammo for it was more available, not really into shooting corrosive/steel case surplus personally. I cant shoot any steel tips at my range either
