While I wait for parts to arrive, what flash hider/comp do you recommend for my 10.3" DD upper? I was going to put my YHM 5M1 comp on but that thing as already loud on a 16" barrel. I'm not interested in any uber expensive models like a triple tap.

Flaming Pig or other Linear Comp. with a 10.3 the concussion is gonna be pretty heavy...send that sh*t downrange!

Thats what I'll try next on my MK18: the Noveske KX5 skinny pig, if I had 500$ to spare I'd try the 3T tho, maybe one day but its hard to justify considering I'll unlikely run my AR suppressed.
Right now it has a BCM Mod 0 comp, supposed to be a hybrid FH/comp... but really it makes huge fireball with AE so I'm expecting even more with the Norc stuff. It didn't seem that bad while shooting it although it was noticeable, but as a bystander it is pretty bad. The concussion I can feel in my sinuses while shooting, a little less as a bystander but it is a little too much for my taste still. It does a decent job compensating tho.
I used to run a Battlecomp 2.0 on a 11.5" and it was much better, I didn't try it on the 10.3" so I'm not sure if it's the Battlecomp or the 1.2" extra barrel that made the difference, yet I'd rank the Battlecomp above the BCM, as far as I remember It felt a little better in every way; taming muzzle jump, flash hiding and concussion.

ATRS Eliminator...not uber expensive but darn good. It is large and heavyish but I like to think of it as a chode suppressor. Now before you complain about the $200 price of them I've managed to get 2 off of the EE (yes, the EE) for much cheaper than that.

I'd be curious to try that one too, does the comp still makes a difference with the CRD on really tho? their video didn't come near to convince me.

Not flash hider but great comp. The new Ferfrans CQB Modular Muzzle Brake System is a two part system consisting of the performance MUZZLE BRAKE MOUNT + CRD (Concussion Reduction Device) which features a built in quick attach/detach mechanism. Personally I love how it looks but it functions very, very well. Just moved it to my 10.3" DD upper build. Here it is on my Norinco

Do you have experience with other linear comp? How are they compared?

S&J have a few linear comps for $50ish. Never used em to say how good they are.

I have their 2" linear comp on a 7.5" AR and it shoots smoother and more comfortably than a 10.5" AR with a YHM muzzle brake. The linear comp throws all the noise and concussion forward and I hardly feel anything at all.

For $50 and Canadian Made (nicely made to add) you can't go wrong. Was considering the KX3 but didn't see the justification for 3x the price and the extra size and weight.

THIS

Incredible. The NANO COMP is for You. Great Piece of Work. I could not believe it. It made the 11.5" a Joy to shoot, the recoil impulse was Awesome. So smooth, like butter.

Some Comps are on sale on the 4Th.

Are there any negatives to using this on an 18.6" XCR barrel or a 16" AR? The description suggests 7.5" -11.5" barrels...

Edit: I have been looking into different compensators lately and there are many choices. I don't want to introduce any feeding problems. I also don't think I want to spend $150+ on one without some good reasons.
