I have a FX120, love it. I have a freind that is getting setup for pistol reloading and needs a scale.

Looking for something good enough for pistol that wont break the bank. I used to have a GemPro 250 years ago but I've head the later ones are that great.

Thanks!

also have the fx120 I and would not be without it

I have a used charge master the big one I would sell and maybe we can get it up to you by pony express

as for little portable scales, not sure. some work and some don’t

as you know unless it is a magnetic force restoration scale it drifts away, ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

had a Dillon that worked well, had a few others that did not
maybe not helps but I know what you are up against as a bad scale for pistol scares me

maybe a 1010 old one?

If for pistol, I used to calibrate my Dillon 650 powder hopper with an RCBS 5-0-5 beam scale.
Nothing wrong with it if only using it to calibrate a progressive press.
If he’s powdering case by case, a good quality powder hopper (like Dillon) matched woth a good beam scale would be a better investment than an electric scale.

I do own an FX120 with auto things, for precision rifle I wouldn’t have it any other way...

I have an old Redding beam scale; it works great; I also have a Lee beam scale, and don't care for it.

I would post a picture, but as usual; it did not work. LOL.

Thanks for the suggestions, I should have mentioned he will be using it for setting up and conformation of a Dillon powder throw on a 750. I understand the balance bean suggestions and I have a couple myself to ensure that I can load ammo with electricity but would like to use a digital scale for this purpose.

I guess a better question might be, does anyone have a sub $100 scale that has worked well enough?

To be honest I can definitely chime in on this.
As I have tried RCBS, Dillon, Gempro and FX120 digital scales in my reloading life.

Anything cheaper than a gempro never gave accurate or repeatable readings for me.
If I was to start over again, I would of stuck with my 5-0-5 to adjust the dillon 650 powder throw, skip all the digitals ones until I got the FX120 for rifle.

If I wasn’t loading rifle I guess the gempro would be my choice of digital scale to adjust a powder hopper.

We never know, I may have had simple bad luck with my RCBS and Dillon digitals...

Because let’s be honest, once the powder hopper is set up we double check the load in what, once in a thousand rounds? Dillon hoppers are stable adjustment wise.
