I like my RCBS 5-0-5. It has been good to me. But the zero will shift after a few measurements, and I can weigh out a charge to exactly level, dump the powder into a case, then back onto the scale and the level is different.
So I'm looking for an upgrade. I have a ceiling fluorescent light near to where I reload, not directly above but near enough. Will that have enough of an effect to rule out electronic scales?
 
I've been asking myself the same thing for a few days: how to increase the precision of that 5-0-5 thick line...and speed up the process if possible.

If you are using a powder trickler to bring the charge to the correct weight, make sure that when you remove the powder pan that a few grains of powder do not "vibrate" out of the trickler onto the pan support. If your scale is at eye level then seeing into the pan support may not be that easy. You would be surprised at how many grains of powder can fall out of the trickler and onto the pan support.
 
I am careful not to bump my trickler as I remove the pan, the thing is the weight can shift up or down when I put the pan back.

That GemPro sounds perfect, but how sensitive to fluorescent lights is it?
 
Or, remove the two Phillips screws, pull out the two agate bearings, and give them a once over with an alcohol wipe.
Give the pivots on the beam a bit of a cleaning while you're at it.
Where the bearings sit might have a bit of accumulated gunk over the years, too.

Ten minutes tops, and you have a good as new scale.
Unless you are just looking for an excuse to buy a Chargemaster??? :D
