I love when the classy folks in amongst us out themselves.
or do you gamble and ask 40% more than it's worth because you're hoping some idiot is willing to desperately attain it
After OP wrote this he was like... Why stop at 40%?

Makes me wish I had started this hobby sooner.
Anyone else being bombarded with other members trying to take advantage of the situation? Had a few replies to a wanted ad, with outrageous asking prices ($2300 for a P229 in one instance LMFAO)
Another member listed an old glock 19 with no history, no photos, no price other than "TBD" (against EE forum rules) so I was like, well it's an old gun with no photos, no history, and one mag, how's $600 (as a fair entry offer for negotiation) Then he told me he wanted $1200 "due to market situation" when most other guys are selling them for $900-ish with extra mags and whatnot. (to that member if you're reading this - pipe down, we don't need more drama and finger pointing - it is what it is and I calls it hows I sees it)
I get supply and demand. The scalper industry that has erupted from the pandemic is widespread. Started with toilet paper. People selling used McDonalds cups for $50 because they have a different logo on them. "oh this one smells like rootbeer, add it to your collection!" I know what I have. Pay up or get lost.
Dealers (not all) have jacked up prices on guns like the CZ P-10 F up to $900, which had an original list price of $600.
So here's the real question - if you're sitting on a desirable gun, that's used, do you ask what it's worth used (commonly 80% retail), do you ask what it's worth brand new and get your full money back, or do you gamble and ask 40% more than it's worth because you're hoping some idiot is willing to desperately attain it... or do you hold onto that pipe dream until transfers are all FUBAR and you're stuck holding onto an expensive paperweight that you don't use, and can't sell or trade.
As respectable members of the EE, anyone involved in it should hold themselves to a higher standard and help each other out rather than trying to rip each other off, and waste people's time.

I saw your Sig 226 ad.
$3500.
Your a bit of a hypocrite, complaini g on on hand but doing exactly what your complaing about with the other.
You forgot the best part.
He doesn’t even have possession of the legion yet, thus breaking EE rules and doing the second thing he’s complaining about in his other ##### ass whiny thread.
