Scar 17s , non restricted ??

Currently prohib. If it somehow makes it into Canada, the non-restricted tax will be strong and expect to pay a ridiculous amount of money ....

ahh, but you have to take into account these type of people :)

Lol MSRP is $3500 USD on FN America's website. I can only imagine that if they were to be sold in Canada, expect to pay $5500+

Only in Canada are we stupid enough to pay more then Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP).

In U.S that is suggested price and everyone sells it for less.

Don't forget to factor in the price of a new lower receiver. The lower is about 350 USD

The street price of SCAR 17S is about 3200.

Right there it is 3550.

Also, there is a cost for people to actually swap out the lower and function test the rifle. And if you want a new non-restricted barrel, well, a FN factory extra barrel is close to 1000 USD. Think about it for a second. This is close to 4500 USD before it comes to Canada. It will be 6500 by the time it gets here in NR format.

I will be happy just to have the 16" restricted version.

And don't forget there will always be some people who are willing to pay more than it's actually worth, IDK why though. Should be interesting if it does get approved. I'd like an FDE one, so sweet.

People like variety. If they did not then they wouldn't sell stateside either.

I know I would be looking to get a 17 in FDE when they come.

I'm in the same boat. I can't wait for it to get classification and really hope it gets approved. The stag is a sweet option, but honestly the USA is flooded with sub 1000$ quality ar's already and yet the scar 17 is still often sold out/selling for above the 3200+ msrp. The scar will have a market here. It won't be as big as the stag, but it'll still be significant.

Well
Beside of NR AR10 style approx cost feom 2K Canadian bone only up to 4k something like hunter ATRS
If you are looking for 30 cal semi auto not a lot of choice

M1A NM or Super M from SAI , even M1A loaded is + 2700$ or higher

If you go with m14 LRB , Fulton , Smith Ent or Bula is gonna be + 5k .

What I see semi auto NR class are expensive ( I'm not talking about those toys , surplus , Starwars shape , or garbage Norinco quality . Only real battle rifles )

Even 70 years old used , banged , repaired and part replaced M1 Garand is + 2500$

A good NR semi auto military grade is + 3500 before tax Approximately and FN scar is gonna be new and luxury class . I think 5k price tag.
