Hey guys,
Just wondering if the SCAR 17S is due in country any time soon? Sorry, I didn't really feel like sifting through the whole black guns forum.

It sounds like the 16S is on it's way... still waiting for an FRT#?

Any idea what the pricing is going to be like on the 16 and 17?

Oh, and are they both going to be Non-R? They are both listed on the FN site as having 16.25" bbls....
 
They come with (its my understanding) a thumb hole stock and I'm not sure if they have the flashhider installed, I don't think so.
 
Uh...they don't come from Europe AT ALL. From what I understand, the SCAR rifles are entirely developed and made INSIDE the USA. Fabrique Nationale has long had at least one manufacturing plant somewhere in the US (Georgia? I dunno). The SCAR was intended to be developed at a US plant so it would be easier to meet the requests of SOCOM customers. This came in especially handy because a week after a request was made, the new plastic part would be available for testing, thanks to rapid prototyping equipment.

AFAIK the FN M-16 contracts were done entirely in the USA too. I'd guess most of their other products would come from Belgium though, where we'd expect them from!
 
Hmm. They must have changed their plans then, because originally they WERE supposed to be made entirely in the USA.

I'm guessing that FN's lack of sales changed their plans, and decided to do production of the SCAR in Belgium to keep those long-term employees at the core of the company, employed. In any case, I stand corrected!
 
I've had it with their State Dept giving Canadians the shaft, we are their allies!!:mad:
I'd like a SCAR too but if this is how its gonna be then screw it!! Swiss Arms has me covered.
