The big question is if there's going to be a civilian version anytime soon?
Also, maybe it's just the camera, or the specific configurations they chose to be in the picture, but it looks like the 7.62x51 version has a shorter barrel. That seems odd.

1) FN will most likely make a civilian version since its a $$$ market in the US and they show willingness since they have civilian version of the P90 and the FN2000
2) we can get them from the US direct by using an importer Questar price are reall good
3) yes the 308 version has a shorter barrel on the picture but this is a modular weapon like the AR so we will see all kinds and shape of upper AND they will have to have a minimum 16 inch barrel to be sold to civilian in the us without the SBR thing

i hate the stock too. don't worry though, i'm sure that once it hits the streets someone is the US will make an M4 stock adapter. god knows that is the best stock ever made......

As bizarre shaped as the stock is, it sounds like FN USA designed it with alot of good ideas in mind. Like the cheek rest sloped up on the front of the stock, and so on. Regardless, I definitely want one when they go public. I hope you're bet is right Scarecrow; about mid-next year for the public release!
Anyone have any speculation about where FN will price these things?

Is that photo reversed, or is this a left handed model? Or is it ambidextrous? It appears to have the cocking handle and safety/fire selector on the right hand side. For a right-handed operator, e.g. the vast majority of the potential users, that is pretty lame. From the company that made the FAL, it's inexcusable.

Well it looks like the ejection port and mag release are on the same side, so I'd say it is not reversed. Charging handle on the right is fairly standard, but I'd guess the safety is ambidexterous.
