I have heard rumours of pricing from other boards saying that the SCAR-L will come in around the cost of a Colt AR. This was from an american board and I certainly can't vouch for the credibility of same. Personally I would think that in the range of what the Robarms XCR is forecast to cost seems likely.

Same price as an AR? Mmm.. sounds good to me! :)
 
Priced to the US Gov't at a similar price to a M4A1 with MWS.

SCAR-L and H will have a polymer lower (to keep cost down) As well the majority of parts will be interchangeable (economies of scale)

It is supposed to be out for SHOT this year -- but depending upon how the Joint Weapons program goes - I would not consider it to be a final model since SOCOM wants the Big Arms to buy it too (and thus fund developement).


However HK may end run all of this.
 
Hk has the Hk416 and Hk417's

The HUGE selling pitch is USSOCOM units have bought some, and former USASOC pers (specifically LAVickers, but others as well) had a huge influence in the design. MARSOC and NAVSOF have been playing with the Hk417 as well so it is not just the Delta mafia supporting their former teammates.

If Hk can demonstrate that they can get Hk416 uppers into the system in a cost effective manner it could make the difference in a Military that is cutting costs everywhere to keep up the warfighting. Secondly since it is based on a M4/M16 platform the training loop is compressed etc.
