Scarce .410 shot guns

I love 410's . I only shoot skeet and shoot every gauge including 16ga. I get the biggest kick out of shooting my 410's . I have a BPS and stevens 311 SXS that will be in the box with me when I take the dirt nap.Theres something about smoking a target on station one with a 410...feels great

When did you get a 16ga? I haven't been out due to deer hunting and dislocating my shoulder. I feel I'm behind I need a new bang stick immediately.

When researching for pictures of my late mother to use at her memorial service, I found a picture of her standing with a partridge in one hand and a single shot shotgun in the other. The forend was missing on the shotgun. She was a young teenager. At the time (the 20's) they had a small beef ranch in norther BC and ate what they grew and shot.

A year later we found that same gun in the family basement. It is an Ivor Johnson (made in Canada) in 410. It is still a good partridge gun. And never for sale.

I'm building a new quick change base for my sub gauge reloaders right now. The cookie sheet is a good idea. Probably buy a new one to keep the peace lol!

I thought you would get a laugh out of this. Helping mama make the cabbage rolls for xmas today and cutting the leaves off the cabbage as they came off the heads boiling on the stove. I said what do you want me to do with these leaves, grab one of my cookie sheets out of the cupboard she says and stack them on it. I went and grabbed one of the sheets and when I seen this busted a gut laughing. What is so funny she said look, yes she says take another for your dam reloading and it will be your last. LOL

Ive got a Cooey in .410, and to be honest I really only use it for nostalgic purposes.

In my very unscientific test I placed clay pigeons starting at 10m at 1m intervals to determine what I figured would be acceptable range on grouse. I figured if it could consistenty break a caly that would be enough for grouse. 15m. Thats it. With a full choke.

I wont ever get rid of it, because, lets face it, a lot of hunting is purely nostalgia anyways, lol, but I think a 20g is a much better all around small game gun. A Cooey 84 in 20g will likely be my next shotgun purchase, actualy.

Sure am that is why we are together almost 35 years. It never started like that she hated guns and took me 10 years to have them in the house after we were married.
Two xmas's ago she bought me a 410 wingmaster all on her own, last year a new rockchucker kit and is paying for 1/2 of the new AL48 28ga semi I have on order with Clay for this xmas.
She is a keeper for sure
Today is gum drop and fruit cake day, fingers are killing me from cutting those dam sticky gum drops.
LOL take care

What I find about the 410 is many think it is the ideal shotgun gun to start a youngster with so anything that can be picked up for a few hundred bucks goes very quickly. It is really not hard to find a 410 if you are looking to put out a grand or better but not too many of us have that to put of for a gun that is going to get quite a going over if the young person likes to shoot it.Just my 2 cents

great gun for new shooters or the wife but ammo is so expensive...can anyone explain why .410 is twice the price versus 12g or 20g?

My .410, Browning Superposed. Choked Skt & Skt, great fun on the skeet field. I don't think I would hunt with those chokes in a .410.
I haven't patterened it to see if it would be suitable in the grouse woods as I have a couple of 20 ga. guns including a Super that work just fine.
