Scatt develops and manufactures simulators and accessories for pistols, rifles, archery and crossbow shooting. It's a great system to train your shooting skills from the comforts of your own home or any other range where you just don't have the distance or are not able to shoot live rounds!!!

SCATT systems will help experienced shooters to better their skills, and beginners the chance to shorten the time needed to learn shooting skills by a factor or two or three. Practicing in an average-size room you can use any type of weapon and simulate shooting at distances up to 1000 meters.
The aiming trajectory, displayed on the screen of the computer, provides complete information about the accuracy of aim and errors being made before and during shooting.

A general description of the training system

All systems operate on the following principles: An electronic optical sensor is fixed to the barrel of the weapon, or the compressed air cylinder of an air weapon. The shooter then aims at the electronic target. A trace of the point of aim can then be followed on a ‘real-time’ display screen. On activating the weapon trigger, the point of impact is then displayed on the screen. All results of the training session can be recorded for further analysis.

There are many different versions of the Scatt available depending on your calibre and training needs.
Have a look at them in our online store www.tesro.ca

The start at around $999 and up to $2400.
There are variety of adapters available.
If you are shooting rifle, it is pretty easy as it will attach along the barrel or on the rail.
For pistol there are adapters for most common calibers.
I have been personally using it for about 15 years now, one of my best investments in terms of training tools.

Mantis focuses on movement relative to itself. You could say that Mantis is like accelerrometer and Scatt would be full blown GPS. Don't get me wrong Mantis is a very good tool, but is not aware of where you are pointing at any time.

Scatt actually does that plus, it is tracking you in real time relative to the target at very high sampler rate and produces shot values on the target plus all of you movement data, like speed graphs, timing movement amount. After a shooting session it will generate number of useful statistics on average shot placement, movement deviation and such. It can also be supplemented with trigger sensor so that you can track your trigger pressure vs gun movement.

Also, depending on the Scatt product you could use it with live vs dry fire shooting, so it could provide you with a serious money saving if you are doing lots of training.

It's the days like this that make the Scatt invaluable. Just came up from the basement after training on SCATT and now looking at the freezing rain and sipping some coffee.
