Schmidt & Bender MTC/LT Turrets or the standard DT Turrets?

I'm going to be pulling the trigger on a PMII 5-25 with H59 reticle, just trying to decide whether to get the MTC/LT turret, or the DT turret.

I have handled a PMII 5-25 H59 with MTC (no LT) turret, and found the detent to be extremely strong. Trying to dial off the detent went .3 clicks at a minimum, so it would seem difficult to dial 3.1mils unless i'm really paying attention to the feel behind it.

I also handled a PMII 3-20 H59 with MTC/LT that Hungry was demo-ing last weekend, and noticed the MTC to be less harsh, but noticeable enough to realize I was on a "full mil" setting.

I'm also not convinced on how much I would use the LT feature. Although I would have an H59 reticle, my plan would be to dial on stages when targets are at same distance, and only hold when doing multiple engagements at different ranges.

The price difference between the MTC/LT and DT is ~$275

For those of you that have experience with these, what are your opinions?
Because this is meant to be a "buy once, cry once" scope, I want to try and avoid any regret by purchasing either way.

Cheers

I had originally bought a pmii with double turn turrets, yet recieved one with LT/MTC. So far the jury is out, I did have some issues originally but it was just user error. I love the scope, I can finally see bullet holes at 300 yards on misty rainy days.
The mtc I have makes me over shoot by 0.1 mrad when going from x.9-x.1 I always overshoot to x.2. Its easy to dial back down, but you have to look at the turret. I love the clean look of the mtc/lt turrets and pop up indicator, but the turret is a bit slippery if you don't have a tight grip and moist/sweaty hands. This may be due to the ral 8000 coating that took away some knurling thickness. Over-all I love my scope, only regret was that I didn't buy it sooner and wasted $500 reselling the first scope I bought.

I have 5-25's with both turrets. The standard DT turret is far nicer than the MTC/LT turret. I would save the $300 personally. You realize how poor the S&B MTC turrets are when you experience how good they could have been; ie Tangent Theta and Premier Reticle.

I'm a fan of the H59. I could take or leave the "tree" beneath the main horizontal line but the floating dot and .2mil graduations are awesome. Just ordered a 3-20 Ultra-Short with an H59. I have a 5-25 with it and a NF F1 with an H58 and have really come to like this reticle.

I don't mind the MTC, it's not nearly as nice as the Premier Reticles turret, but I don't have any major complaints. You'll know when you're on a full mil value or if you've overshot it, you almost get used to overshooting and dialing back.

The locking turrets are useless as far as I'm concerned, I can't think of a situation where I would need them. My sentiments mirror Marcoman on the H59 although I think the grid/tree could be very useful if one were to engage targets qiuckly at various distances that are timed where dialing would cost you time/points.

thanks for the replies! im trying to come up with a situation where locking turrets or mtc would be useful, but haven't come up with much yet. I have the same question going on the Hide, and it seems to be a similar result.
