Schmidt & Bender PMII 5-25x56mm Unboxing!

I think some of the ones that Wolverine has in stock are in the 3200$ range. I paid 2750, +275 for the mount, used. Based on what I've seen, you're not gonna get one for under that 2700$ mark, they hold their value very well.

I was gonna get a SPUHR, mostly cause they're so damn cool (dumb reason, I know) but the 12-50 I found was already mated to a NEAR. In future I'll sure be looking for a SPUHR.

Those arent 5-25 cheapest one in stock starts at 3799, out of stock cheapest 3525.

Only reason I got the spuhr was how it looks, same with chassis. Performance of all the items is just a plus! But the spuhr self leveling feature is awesome.

#### yes! Im so god damn happy! My spuhr mount is waiting for me at home! This is going to be an epic weekend, seems like ill be reloading 150 rounds tonight for tomorrow morning!

Be on lookout for a spuhr isms unboxing this evening and a small review after my range trip tomrrow.
 
i'm not an FDE fan, but I can see why others like them.... everything I have, and will have, is black or charcoal. I'll never shoot at anything in the desert (I don't think).

However, at the end of the day (ie. TODAY!!!), that is ridiculous!!! Beauty Rifle!! If you can keep up with that gun & glass, you are a better man than me (or equal, if I'm lucky).

I don't really care for it either. If they made them in OD green I would seriously pay extra for it. But I'll take what I can get, there must be some sort of scope "wrap" I could use to lessen the FDE.

But BOY does it ever look ###y sitting ontop of the rifle!

I'm curious, but with the scope set like it is there is less than 2.5" between my face and the scope. This should be enough eye relief not to get scoped right? It is only on a 308 win (43.5gr varget, 175 smk, ~2950 fps)
 
2.5" will be fine, esp in a .308.

Does it have a rubber bumper?? If not, just in case, get some glasses on!!!

I bet someone could cerakote it for you?? You'd have to be without it for 2 week though, and that'd be hard....

Probably is, but I didn't measure I held a screwdriver bit between my eye and the scope guesstimated 2.5".. Could be more or less, I just kept it to where I could shoulder the rifle, cheekweld and look forward with perfect sight picture. With my old scope (wasn't set properly) I had a hell of a time getting proper sight picture (tunneling, seeing reticle doubling etc) without moving my head back/forth/sidetoside. This time, its shoulder, cheekweld, and perfect view.

Now i'm paranoid of getting scoped as well!

Desert? You live in SK, the province is brown and white for 8 months of the year. Black rifles stick out in the snow like a black rifle in the snow.
 
Has anyone upgraded to the tenebraex covers? If so where did you get them? I really don't like the look of the butler creek caps, feels too "cheap" to be on a S&B.

Although I don't disagree with you at all....not one time has a whitetail or gopher shot back at me....

I tend not to prescribe to the "Russians/ISIS are coming" mentality either..... But I may have a can of FDE tremclad in the garage, just in case....

Haha yeah, I get spoiled easy.. Edit: that's the reason why I won't build a competition ar, I would go full bore stupid on roll marks and brand whoring. I would be way to broke for a restricted. I'm fairly interested in the modern varmit tho

Question, before zeroing should I unclamp the screws and turn all way to mechanical zero? Then zero from there? Or 5 clicks from mech zero?

I did return everything to zero after i was dead on at 300 metres... 100-600 metres in a jiffy... JP.
