Hi all,

I've got this lovely piece en route to me now. I gather it's an older CZ75 (the early one). What do I need to know? Are mags still available (or are they compatible with the newer ones)? Any tips and tricks from the experts here?

Thanks in advance!

Hey...congrats...great purchase...I have one, I upgraded the sights to target....double action trigger isn't bad but heavy, single action on mine is sweeeeeet...I'm sure my shadow mags fitted my 75...I'll go and check and update the post if they don't....
It really is a piece of firearms history...many copies of this design, but it's a beautifully balanced pistol and a joy to shoot....have fun..

Genuine factory CZ75 mags will work. I had issues with OEM mags. Guns N Things in AB will have factory CZ75 mags.

What sight upgrades fit the preB and where did you get them. Thanks

If you're looking for adjustable sights, PM me. I have a set I never installed on my Pre-B. Front sight is staked. You may need to get a gunsmith involved to have it installed.

I bought my CZ75 used in 1992. Current mags do not fit a pre-B CZ75 unless someone files the magwell.

You can find mags that will fit a pre-B, but they're usually a trick to find, and expensive.

That said, the trigger on my pre-B is unrivaled, and it is one of my best shooters!!

I tend to agree with that statement. My 85C is not in the class that my Pre-B was.

The factory CZ75 mags I purchase from CZ Custom worked fine in my Pre-B. They were pricy all right $75 each when all was said and done.

If new mags fit your gun and it is a PreB then someone has definitely filed the magwell om your gun. I had a transition 85Combat and the magwell had to be filed out to accept the new mags. The gun was made in 1988. Not sure of the exact date the change was made in the frame but it was after 1988 for sure. I let mine go because of the rear sight had the round cut style dovetail for the rear sight. Someone out there has an excellent 85 Combat made in 1988. I loved that gun and wish I still had it.

Take Care
