Op, your SKS has depreciated slightly due to modifications, but if it shoots well and you like it, who cares. I can only see one pic so I too have nothing to offer. I suggest you google 'SKS proof marks', should find everything you're looking for.

Personally, if I ever find an SVT-40 under 300 dollars, I'm going to sand down the stock and duracoat the whole gun

LoL... Hey man.. It's all good... it's whatever you like! I'm sorta known for not liking the altering of military surplus rifles. But it's your rifle, and if you want to use it as a crow bar(which the SKS is tough enough to do by the way haha) go for it! Just like to get a bit if light ribbing in here and there on behalf of modified military surplus firearm. Don't take us too serious around here.

Personally, I love the original wood stocks. But at least Rivens still somewhat resembles an SKS, and its a Chinese SKS. There's probably more Chinese SKSs in the world than any other firearm. The Red Rifles section is filled with threads featuring craptastic tapco-ized SKSs; some even using the more limited Soviet SKSs; they are far more deserving of criticism, IMO.
Looks like a Chinese to me, is it a factory 26?. Is that a 5rd mag or are my eyes playing tricks? How does she shoot? And by the way, its YOUR rifle, do what you want to it and don't mind what anybody else thinks of it. Happy shooting.
