I they are both " Tri-26" and in 24 Million serial number, they are both in 1980 (or 81 per some sources). More research avail if you look.

24 mil is the 1979 year of production. Listen to the expert:

As Buck 1950 mentioned I have purchased one , actually two in what I would say mint condition “ French Ticklers “ . It was also less costly than Bass Pro

You can use a bit of a flip-flop if you have some left after the summer. Instead of a $60+ Limbsaver; save that for your shotguns.

Just for extending length of pull, the cheap ones on amazon are just fine. 308 and up you want some quality.

I purchased it to increase the length of pull, recoil isn’t that bad to require extra padding. One advantage is the rubber holds the position of the butt in your shoulder nice so readjustment after shots isn’t required.
I have only used the recoil pad once, mostly because I keep forgetting it as I take it off the rifle so it doesn’t damage the finish on the butt of the gun over time.

I've used these things before, the UTG ones in the photo. It works. Seems Lever has some more form fitting ones that are the same diameter as the stock and not like a condom that goes around it lol. Lighter and lower profile. Seems to be a cottage industry of Canadians making them on gun post and other sites etc.

The dimensions of the gun being made for a munchkin is one reason the synthetic stocks have allure to me but i like the original wood stocks too much lol

I have seen in some ads the butt plate that you replaced the original steel plate that also had the access hole to get at the cleaning kit.
I’m like you, I like the original wood stock and don’t really want to play with the originality of the gun.
I just shoot it and have fun.

That seems to be the one from manufactorum.ca up there (well there are no doubt others just like it)...appreciate it having that function remain intact too. ANd not alter the profile/look of the gun too much. Honestly if they just made the stocks and inch longer and checkered the buttplate a big aggressively I'd love it haha.


Not as bad as a Kar 98k with that flat cupped buttplate tho, good luck keepin that in your shoulder lol
