school me on the T97

Thanks for all the info. The reason I ask is I came across one in very nice condition with some nice glass and accessories for what you guys tell me is a very good price. So I'm off to buy it.

Just make sure the inside of the barrel weren't hit when they drilled the gas port.

My experience with a 14### T97 was quite awful at first, FTF every 3 or 4 rounds on a GI mag, but after filing the feed ramp (follow the instruction on YouTube), it's working great now!

I read someone were filing the ramp bcuz of rtf, care to comment?

I have two Gen 1 carry handle types.
No issues.

Short, light, simple reliable and accirate.
I stick to aluminum issue type mags like D&H and have had no problems.
Like Angrysoldier, I can get down to 1.5 moa if I do my part.

Yes they can be.
Best is the mags that it came with, then the aluminum issue style mags.

A lot of the polymers tend to bulk up and have fitting issues.

I own both a T97 and Tar21. My T97 started getting the FTF (pushing the bullet into the casing) issue, but I sent it back for repair and haven't had an issue since, with all my mags. Put several thousand rounds of cheep Barnaul steel stuff without issue.

My T97 shoots tighter groupings than my Tavor all day long. If I had to choose, I would still choose the Tavor though, but the T97 is a great rifle when the problems are ironed out.

this is one of two mags that came with my T97. i havent used it yet but when i push the metal follower in with my finger it seems to get hung up.
