I mentioned in another posters thread that I had this Schultz & Larsen match rifle coming and I wasn't sure what model it is. Well it came today so I'm posting some pics. I found on another forum that it might be a model M49 but not sure. I like the rifle and it has a pretty nice bore. But onto the problems it has. In the listing it was mentioned that the bolt cycled a bit stiff. Well, yes it does. In fact to the point that if in the shooting position you can hardly pull it back. Also, the gun does not #### no matter what I do. I can cycle the bolt and pull the trigger and there is nothing. I don't know if I'm not doing something right with the triggers or ?. I tried adjusting the adjusting screw all the way in, all the way out and in between but it made no difference. I don't see a safety anywhere so I'm assuming it doesn't have one. It's hard to tell sometimes if you hear the firing pin let go when the bolt is pushed all the way forward or if it's just the sound of the extractors engaging into place.
Also, the set screw that holds the buttplate hook secure does not work. It does not come far enough through the outer housing to catch the butt hook. I showed a pic of the screw. Is there supposed to be a nub on the end of the screw?
I like the rifle but I have a feeling it will be going back unless someone can tell me if I'm doing something wrong.

To me it looks like either the model 49 0r 47. You also have the butthook on upside down. Also look under the trigger guard to see if it is cut out for a set trigger. The trigger may have been altered. Give it a little push forward to see if it sets/ If it does you should feel s slight locking of the trigger. Some one more knowledgeble will chime in.

If I push forward on the front trigger it will cause the back trigger to move a bit. One other thing. I don't know if the bolts are supposed to match the number on the receiver or not on these guns or how important it is. Anyhow this bolt does not match so I don't know if that could be some of the issue with the bolt being stiff and not cocking.
The butt hook won't fit the other way. It will go almost 3/4 of the way around and gets so tight that you would have to beat on it with a rubber hammer. Then it might go. I wouldn't think you would have to beat on it that hard? With the hook part facing up it goes around in the groove very easy, just the screw won't lock it in place. I see some of the other guns on Tradeex have the hook up at the top as well. Don't know if they were just put on upside down or if they won't fit the other way either.

Does the back trigger lock into place when you set the front trigger? If it does ( I keep an empty round in the chamber ) pull the trigger - does it now click so as to release the firing pin?

No, it seems like the back trigger really isn't doing anything. I pullet the bullet off of a casing a put the casing in the chamber. I thought maybe the firing pin was releasing sometimes when the bolt was closed but it isn't. At least the primer hasn't gone off. I think the firing pin isn't cocking as the head of the pin is always protruding. For one thing I think the bolt needs to be taken apart and really cleaned as it looks dirty from what of it I can see. But I'm not taking anything apart until I contact Tradeex.
