Good find. There's a good example of the stresses put on a scope. Buy quality or be sorry.
Sure looks like an AI (Accuracy International) branded Schmidt and Bender scope ... that is "bendered" 
...also looks a little like an AI scope base...
(in this case the shooter probably thought he had bought quality... maybe time for some sliding mounts?)

That was an episode of Future Weapons (ya know, with Baldo, the WONDER seal).
I think there area only like 3 brands of scopes that are .50 BMG rated... I know Leupold and NightForce are 2 of them.
The scope mount on the AS50 is attached to the side of the reciever. I guess it helps with the recoil on it or something. I think the deal, is that it wouldn't mount properly, or would flex too much if it was mounted directly to the reciever.
You see how the barrel warps and bends (at the end)!!!
