Scope Boosters

I've been looking around for a scope booster. From what I understand, they magnify the existing view you get through the scope. From what I know they have downsides, like they reduce clarity and brightness.

Are they offered up here? Do they fit on Sightron 8-32x56 scopes?
 
I used one on my Elite 4200 6-24 and it worked very nicely. BUT it reduces you eye relief ALOT so if you are shooting a hard kicker - bad idea.

Also, alot of scopes do not have the objective adjustment range to get the image back into focus.

I tried it on a few Sightron SIII's and it didn't work (I have the slip on type).

With the SIII 10-50 and fixed 36X, I saw no need for any image booster. I retain all that wonderful eye relief, field of view and clarity.

It was a great idea but I prefer not to use it anymore....and I don't need to.

Thanks for the input Mystic! Yeah valid points. I was kinda thinking about just slipping the booster on after groups to turn the scope into a makeshift spotting scope, as I don't have much money for a good high magnification spotting scope.

I figure if a booster is like 125$ and it will use the scope's good glass to provide high magnification... I thought it would just be a good deal.

What's the ETA on those Sightrons anyhow?
 
Should have a bunch of new ones coming in the next week or two.

Using the booster as a spotting scope doesn't work as you need to adjust the eye focus each time you use it vs not on.

I tried...

it depends on which booster you get i hear a lot more success stories with guys that bought the 3x vs. 4x. there is a pretty through process once you put it on that needs to be followed in order to get the proper adjustment. I compete against one guy who has put it on his Nightforce and he says it is great.

The trick is in setting it up.

Ah, thanks trevor. I might stick with the standard magnification, since the scope is on a .300 Win and as Mystic pointed out, the shorter eye relief can be an issue.

Thanks Mystic, I already ordered and purchased one from you, just waiting for it. No rush, I just wanted an idea of when to expect them.

Thanks y'all, I'll save up for a decent spotting scope like a normal person.
