Morning folks I recently picked up a VX 5 for my t3x in 6.5x55 and now I’m wondering about covers does anyone have experience with the leupold flip up covers are they worth the $$ after dropping 2k on this scope I want to try and protect it what does everyone use for covers? Thanks

with a $2000 scope,I'd take the plunge for those lens caps.
I have them on my vxr, well made, super convenient & protect the lens better than
anything else I've tried

Those scope covers are a factor in my Leupold purchases. Easily worth the money.

All other scope manufacturers are dropping the ball on that.

I’ve tried just about every flip cap option out there. Alumina caps are by far the best. That said, the older ones with the gold medallion are better than the new ones with the white printed logo. The finish is a lot rougher now

The newest version from Butler Creek seem well built for the $$, but I'd bring the scope with you to test the fit. Personally, I only use a cover on the objective lens side of the scope.

Yea, don't even think about the other covers. Yes they are a bit more money, but by far the best option out there, and yes I have tried them all.

I wish more manufacturers made scope specific covers like leupold do.

I also use a cheapo scope coat for when in the safe, as they always hit up against something and are better protected that way.

Made overseas now just like the scopes

The Leupold flip covers are worth it IMHO. I was on the fence then my hunting buddy got a set for his scope. I ordered a set for mine the next day.
