Scope finaly kicked it

So the cheap tasco varmint scope I had on my 6.5x55 T3 varmint finaly kicked the bucket today. I had it shooting dead center at 100yards then suddenly its 6" high and 10" to the right but still shooting sub MOA.


So im in the market for a new scope. Im going to eventually start shooting over 300 yards. what power scope should I be looking at? will a basic 3-9x40 be good enough out to 300?

Feel like spending $1000? Buy a Vortex PST 6-24x50 FFP

That's what I just did, you'll have to see it next time you're up island.

Allthough if you don't feel like spending $1000 then anything with a 1" tube will give you more than enough adjustment to shoot out to 300 yards. 3-9x20 should do the trick, but hunting in dawn/dusk conditions will be difficult unless you've got a larger objective lens and/or illumination.

thnx, dont hunt with rifle anymore, strictly going to be for target shooting
