Scope for 10/22 @ 100 yards

I currently have a Bushnell 3-9x 32mm Rimfire scope on my Ruger which is great at 50 yards. When I take it out to 100 yards I can't see where it hits on the target.

I was thinking to either A)get a spotting scope or B) upgrade my riflescope.

Going with option B I found a Tasco 6-24x, which seemed to have a good price.

Anyone have any thoughts on the Tasco? or perhaps a different/better model?
 
Against my better judgement, I allowed a buddy to con me into buying one of the Tasco 6-24x's when he bought his. Having had the chance to play with two specimens of this scope, I can definitely state that it is optically the worst scope I have ever used. Forget about sharpness at the edge of the field of view...even the center is not that hot.

Cheap scopes are just expensive lessons. Although it would be nice to have top-level German optics on all my guns, it just isn't feasible for me. However, if you can double the budget from the cost of the Tasco to somewhere in the 200-250 dollar range, you will get much better quality.
 
I haven't tried that one, but I've played with a couple of Trophy scopes, and they are head and shoulders above the Tasco. The one you're looking at has a 50mm objective, so you might need high rings to mount it on your rifle. Use a 10/22 in the store to make sure that you get rings high enough, but no higher than necessary. The full multi-coating is nice, the adjustable objective is great for use with either your .22 or with a longer range rig if you switch it around someday. Personally, I think I would go for the Trophy 6-18x with the 40mm objective. LeBaron's has it on sale for $230. Cheaper, and you can mount it a bit lower to the gun.
 
I have a trophy 4-12, one of the older Japanese made one and its perfect with great glass on my 597VTR. Can bust clays out to 200 yards no problem!
 
I just got a Bushnell Trophy 6-18x on a trade, nice scope for a rimfire. The optics don't compare to Zeiss or higher end Leupolds, etc. but not a bad scope over all. It will go nicely on my marlin 925. :)
 
Stopped in at Le Baron on my way home from work and did an impulse buy.

Walked out with a Bushnell Trophy 6-18x 50mm scope.

Looked at the Trophy and 3200 Elite side by side. Although the 3200 was definitely brighter, I didn't think it was worth almost twice the price.

Picked up a pair of weaver rings only to get home and discover my existing mount is a tip-off (doh!). So now I either have to go get new tip off rings or pick up a weaver rail for the receiver. Sigh.

go for the weaver rail. large clamping surface (assuming it screws into your receiver), and the slots will keep your scope from shifting forward / backward with use. plus more ring sizes / choices that way.

Weaver makes exactly the same base (combo Weaver/tip-off) for the 10/22. I'll bet LeBaron's has it in stock, it's one of Weaver's most popular bases.
 
I took one of those tasco's on a trade once for $50 , like , how bad can it be?Man, that one didn't hang around long, I'm too used to my leupold's. All of my .22 scopes (6) are adjustable optic type so that parallax is not an issue up close, 3 are Leo's, 1 bushnell , 1 centerpoint and 1 Nikka. Of the last 3 the bushnell isn't bad, the centerpoint is ok but very inexpensive, the Nikka is average but better suited for a centerfire @ 100 yds. plus. JMHO.
