Scope for 17 fireball

What scope would be recommended for a Rem 700 VTR 17 Fireball which may be used eventually as a donor rifle for custom gun.?

I have a tasco varmint 6-24x42ao on my .223 bolt action and it is far from the best scope out there but for the money it seems ok, it was under 150$. It is clear enough that it does not hurt my eyes, has held a zero nicely, and did not rape my wallet. Might be worth it if you are just going to change your setup a short time from now anyways.

Stick with any offering from the Bushnell Banner line....dependable and won't break the bank. But be sure to use a quality set of rings and bases.
