I have been looking for a scope for .22 LR benchrest shooting at 50 and 100 yards (maybe 25 too). Does anyone have the Bushnell Tactical 6-24X50mm with the G2 reticle. I called Bushnell today and they said that the crosshair on this scope is finer than the Duplex reticle. I was thinking the hash marks would be good windage indicators. I was also looking at Vortex but I have been reading lately that you may need their excellent warranty. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi , don't have a tactical, but this scope is worth your looking at that I have
Bushnell Ultra Legend HD 4.5 X 14 mill dot that is an excellent scope ,has the fine cross hair, mag. is good

In my opinion if its strictly a benchrest gun 24 power is not enough. At my local club the benchrest guns generally run 32x plus. There are more than a few straight 36x including my weaver t36 . There are also a couple of 45 power leupolds i believe and a couple of sightron 10 -50's .

as TrxR suggested, for pure BR shooting, higher mag with very fine reticle can help alot. If this is competition vs shooting off a bench, the size of groups are very small so any aiming error compounds the group badly.

variables is what I would look at and compete with Sightron 10-50s in SIII and SV formats. Many use the 8-32 with good effect... cost less too.

I am no longer a fan of fixed high mag scopes given mirage and no way to work around it. The market has also spoken with almost all fixed high mag scopes going bye bye.

Better brand variables will hold zero very well AND give you far more options for optical viewing.

For a pure paper puncher, the FCH and target dot make alot of sense.

PM or email if interested in learning more. Thanks

Jerry
