Looking for a decent scope in the $300 range for my savage mark ii BV .looking at the vortex cross fire ii 6-18 x44,Redfield revenge 6x18 or the Burris c4 4.5x14 wind.Anyone use these looking to shoot 50_125 yds

Spend a little more and be happy. The Timberline has eye relief issues, Crossfire II is yellow inside. My XFire II 6-24x50 seems to have a bit of a yellow tinge inside, not as clear as my Diamondback 4-12 AO. The Burris and I don't get along real well, could be just me and my bi-focals though. It's highly regarded at Rimfire Central. Wound up forking out the cash for a Bushy Elite 4-16x40. Worth the wait Bushy Elite 3200 5-15x50 on my Ultra Lux is also real nice, could find a used one reasonable maybe.

the mueller apt and apv scopes are right at that price point and i highly recommend them. the APT is slightly above but has a larger tube and 'tactical' turrets which the APV doesnt have.

I recently purchased three Bushnell Elite 4200 scopes on EE for between $325 and $400, including caps, sun shade, shipping, (and rings in two cases). One was 4-16 x 40 and two were 6-24 x 40. These scopes have awesome optics, can't say enough about them, especially so for this price! Two have multi-fine cross hairs and one has mil dot. I've seen others in the same price range I did not purchase so they are out there. Some might say they are "too much scope" for a rim fire but I think it depends on what you want in a scope.

Good luck in your quest!

buy the weaver or sightron fixed 36 power, its what many br shooters use and works very well on a dedicated br 22. more power really is nice to have

Why is when someone comes on here and ask for a scope in a certain dollar range that people got to recommend almost double that amount? The OP wants a $300 scope and there are plenty out there that will do the job.

I have three of the Mueller's they are a great scope for the money and have heard the S1 Sightrons are good.

To the scope whore's, I also have a TASCO Varmint 6-24 $100 scope on my Anschutz 54! I can shoot just great with for a .22. Just Saying.

There are many of these Tasco's at our 22 club and they are great for the money. Got mine on sale 2 years ago at Cabela's for $120. No problems at all on my savage mark ll FV.

I have the same scope on my Marlin 981T. For $100 it has AO and came with 2 sand-bags for bench/table shooting….perfect for my plinking needs.

I've had great success with Nikon P-rimfire scopes. Cabelas sell them for $200. BDC reticle. I've got 3 of them and they are excellent performers. Clear glass. Tactical turrets. Highly recommend.

I agree. Bushnell Trophy XLT 4-12. About $200. Good scope out to about 200 yards on a light recoiling rifle.

I just put that very scope with the DOA reticle on my 452 Varmint! Have put about 500 rounds through it this past week, on both paper and steel out to 150 yards so far.
At 150 I was standing clay pigeons in the mud of the backstop. So you could see about 3/4 of it. Once I figured out where to hold on the reticle I was averaging probably around 1.5 rounds per clay! I know many people and rifles are capable of this kind of accuracy, but this is the first time I've had a .22 that can consistently pull off shots like that! The scope, so far has held out just fine. Is it as clear as a $1000 scope? No, of course not, but for a little over $200 I'm very happy with it.

Yes exactly thanks.I don't want a fixed power scope as I want to be able to shoot down to 50 yds maybe even 30.Scope has to have an adjustable parallax down to 50 yds. I'm thinking 6x18 should give me decent magnification at 100-125.Only reason I had the Burris 4.5X 14 c 4 on the list is its on sale at wholesale for $330.The fine plex vortex 6-18×44 is only $250.Other issue is no one has the 6x18 in stock too look through. I will research the Mueller. Yah makes me laugh put a $1000 plus scope on a $350 savage. Even my go to hunting rifle has a 20 year old redfield 5 star 4x12. My 270 has a vortex HS 4-16. Those would get upgraded long before my 22 target.

Great glass have the 150bdc on my 1022, just need more magnification.

I see you can also get the trophy xlt in 6x18 adjustable parallax for $329 @ cabelas yet another choice. The vortex fine plex 6x18 is only $250. Sure would be nice to look before ordering though. I know what you mean bushnell scopes are usually easy to get use too.I have the bushnell AR223 on my norinco.

I just bought a Sightron S1 4*12 and put it on my cz 455. I thinks its a good scope for the money ($200)

the parallax adjustment works really well, the only thing I don't like is, I don't think I can zero my turrets, I think if you buy the TAC model with exposed target turrets they can be zeroed

added a pic

I have a Mueller APV 4.5-14x40AO and a Tasco Target/Varmint 6X24X42mm on two of my CZ 452's. They are great scopes for the the money.

Much like aheppner, my CZ455 American wears the same scope. Needs a little more work but with the cross hair set at 50 yards, the HHT reticle looks to be pretty close to 75 and 100 yards when the stadia below the cross hair is used for longer ranges.
The CZ455 Varmint wears a Burris 4.5-14 by 42 and it would make a pretty reliable silhouette scope for small bore. With the cross hair set on 40 m., the other stadia are pretty closed to 60, 77 and 100 metres.

If you want to just punch paper off the bench, a 36X as previously recommended would by the ticket to wring the most out of your rifle.
Both of my scopes were installed with the intention being gophers or whatever.

There's also the Vortex crossfire ii 6x24 fine plex with resetable turrets and parallax down to 10Yds for $329.Not just going to punch paper, shooting clays at distance. My Gopher, ground squirle killing days are over!! Let them live I killed enough of them in my youth including the now protected Marmont.
