Scope for a 257 weatherby

Hi guys I'm buying a new rifle in a 257 weatherby and was woundering what would a good scope to buy? The rifle is a remington 700 CDL.

Thanks for the replies I was thinking of the leupold VX3 but the zeiss conquest would also be a good one. What do you guys think.

Sorry Kelly the rifle will be used for hunting mainly and also some long range target shooting.

Like others have stated that 4.5 - 14 range would be a nice range.

Using a Conquest 4.5-14 with mil-dot for one of my hunting/target setups, on my second one of these scopes.However the best bang for dollar right now is 3-9x40 Zeiss under $500.00 if 9X is sufficient for your needs.

Not sure if it is an issue for ya but some have constant eye relief throughout the magnification range(Zeiss) some are variable(Leupold).The VX3's and Conquest are going to be very close, can't go wrong with either one.I do favor the Zeiss glass for my eyes.

Make sure that the reticle is fine enough for your target purposes and you should be good to go.

If you are more budget oriented, you can also look at Sightron.

that is a great caliber, you'll like it. I had one in a Weatherby.
I like the Zeiss conquest or Nikon monarch.

I had a 2.5-10 on my 257 and always felt I would like more power. If you feel like spending cash on good optics, the Swarovski Z5 3.5-18 is hard to beat for a rifle like the 257 Wby.
A 4.5-14 ,like others have stated, would be good as well.

I put my best scope, a Zeiss conquest 4.5-14x50, on my 25-06 AI, and it's a great combination.
