Just how factionalized is the board here? I mean, if I have to choose I guess I'm a milsurp guy, but still . . .
I asked in optics what would be a good scope for an SVT-40 using the no-gunsmithing mount from Frontier:
I'm not at all knowledgeable on optics so I need some advice on a good scope for this mount/rifle in order to whack a deer or two. I'm in BC, hunt mostly in the Kamloops area in relatively open ground, light brush, and I don't tend to walk through the brush much. I figure a 200 yard shot is about the limit of my skill. So, in the $300ish range, what would work well? I mean, just how accurate can an SVT-40 be and what magnification is justified?
