Scope for Benelli MR1

Hey there!

I am wanting to purchase a scope for the Benelli MR1. I read a few past threads and found that an eye relief of about 6" is prefered for this rifle due to it's design. I am also wanting to put a RDS on-top of the scope for closer range shooting (like a Burris FastFire or EOTECH MRDS). Any Ideas from any current owners would be great as well. I want a scope for target shooting on paper (100 yards for sure) and possibly some yote hunting! I found a nice combo that includes a Burris scope/mount/RDS on Wolverine's website for just over $700 seems like good value but no knowledge on quality.

I put a Redfield 2x7 with the Accurange reticle in Leupold see thru rings. It works fine and you can still use the irons in a pinch.

I find that on the lowest setting I can use it as a fast sight with both eyes open.
 
Mine is top with a Zeiss 3X9X40 Rapid Z-600, great scope for the carbine, mounted very low on the rail, permit great grouping... JP.

You find the eye relief to be alright for this scope? I checked online they list a 3.7 to 4.2in eye relief. With the stock on the MR1 it makes it a bit short no?

The eye relief over the entire magnification range is fine for me on my adjustable stock MR-1. What I don't like is the cheek weld as those Leupold see through rings put the scope too high for my liking. I looked at a couple of buckle on cheek rests at Dave's Surplus but the Benelli stock is too thin for them to fit properly. The search continues.

What limits the cheek weld more than the stock is the rear sight as the eyepiece of the scope has to clear it, un;ess you maybe go with a scout/handgun scope. If you don't want the rear sight on, it can be removed and you can get a good cheek weld even with the collapsible stock as pretty much any scope can be mounted low. Regardless, I don't consider the MR1 a long range varminter, so I'm fine with it the way it is.

I started off with a Leupold M8 4x, then a Redfield 2-7 and now it's wearing an Aimpoint Pro which I like best. That said, this isn't my long range predator gun, it's the truck gun so I'm counting more on the 10 shot LAR mags to do their job than a well placed single shot where I have lots of time.
