Hi All --

Just got a CZ 455 Standard, and am enjoying it thoroughly.

I need some suggestions on reasonably priced scopes (+/- $200) of the appropriate magnification for general target shooting, and possibly hinting small game. Same question for mounting rings. What makes a rimfire scopes different, other than the magnification?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions or advice, as always!

Cheers,

Grey

I use what ever scope i have sitting around, my CZ 452 has an old Bausch & Lomb 4x and mthe 455 has a 3x9 Leupold i picked up on the EE. A scope made for a rimfire usually has the parallax set at 50 yards and a center fire scope is set for 100 yards, if you get a scope that has adjustable parrallax all is good. Generally the cheaper the scope the lower quaility the glass and construction, the Tasco line stand up well to low recoiling rifles. Vortex is becoming very popular just because of price and warranty, for target shooting and critters i would start at a 3x9 and go up from there, if you do a lot of shooting at 50-100 yards i would look for an adjustable objective lens scope, the magnification will be up to you and your needs.

Mine is so accurate I wanted a scope that really reaches out, so right now i'm onto a 6-24

a 3-9 is a nice all around scope for hunting

I change it up
