scope for my 45-70

So i am looking into a scope for my 45-70

The 2 scopes that are standing out the most are the Vortex Viper in 2x-7x 32mm or the Vortex Diamondback 2x-7x 35mm

I am looking to spend up to $200 (I can get the Vortex at cost) and i was wondering if anyone had other ideas.

Redical does not matter to me, if it has a cross hair i will use it!

I had a VXII 1-4x20 on my 45-70 guide gun. Seemed to work well for me. I also had a VXI in the same power. May want to keep eye on EE and get one close to the money you want to spend. I do here the Vortex scope's are pretty good. Keep us posted on your choice.

Good choice!

When I had one of my Marlin 45-70's scoped, I chose the Vari-XII 1-4x20. I found it almost a perfect fit for that rifle and cartridge. If I was to do it again(which I doubt I will) that would be my choice.

Diggers advice on the EE is solid. Keep an eye on there for a short while and you will find what you need.
