Scope for new Bushmaster ACR NR

Well due to the burdensome firearms laws and my local range's new restrictive access I have decided to get rid of my new Diemaco Colt and get a non restricted ACR. I know it probably won't be as nice as the Colt but there's a lot less hassle.

Now for a scope. Primarily shooting under 200 yards at targets and coyotes. I have an Aimpoint pro but I don't think that will work.
I was thinking about a Bushnell 4200? I would love an elcan 1-4x but that's a little too high.

Any suggestions? Thanks

$1250? How long ago was that? I've been looking for one for my Colt in that range but the lowest I saw was $1900.
 
I had a 2-7x32 Zeiss and found the field of view too narrow, swapped to a 3-15x42 Zeiss and like that a lot better but may try a 2-10x42 when I get it back. My ACR is a different caliber though.

something like the Zeiss/Hensoldt ZO may suit you if you are looking for more of a 4 power for close range stuff

For Yotes, well you just know as soon as you setup something for 200 you'll see them out to 300. They're jerks like that.

If you're into a 2.5-10x40 we have Nikon and Bushnell that I'm sick of looking at and since you got that IUR with us we can talk about a better price for either optic in PM ;).

Im actually in the process of aquiring it today. Lol

Check the EE numerous times a day to catch the deals, and when you see one, don't hesitate to pull the trigger or you will miss it. If your not first to the punch, somebody else has drank it...
 
Do the Aimpoint magnifiers have the ability to turn on and off the magnification or are they always magnified at 3x?
 
Pretty sure all magnifiers are fixed 3x and you either need to have a switch to side flip mount or take em off. that said, never owned one because I don't like the Idea of maintaining 2 optics and the added weight and bulk.

Buy an optic you can use on another platform, make due with it on the ACR until you find a Specter DR 1-4x you can afford!
 
Elcan 1-4- way too heavy for the already front heavy acr
Vortex 1-6- same deal, too heavy
Trijicon 1-4- useless reticle, terrible fisheye with the glass

You want to go lightweight as possible.
I liked the trijicon ta33 on mine, a leupold 1-4 patrol, or a vortex 2.5-10x32.
If you've got no price cap, the leupold 1-6 is about as good as it gets for still being a reasonable weight. The vortex 1-6 (with the mil reticle) and the elcan are great on some rifles, but make the ACR feel very poorly balanced.
 
I put a Leupold Mark AR Mod 1 3-9x40 with mildot reticle and elevation turret calibrated for 55gr 5.56. Works great and is pretty light. Only cost me around $400 new.

I'd stay away from Bushnell, The last one I had was the Elite 6500 2.5-16 and the glass was terrible. I sold it for a loss and will never buy another Bushnell.

If you want a 1-4 I suggest the Hi-Lux CMR from Wolverine for around $400, great glass and a fantastic reticle. Comes with zero-stop turrets and is illuminated. When I was shopping for a 1-4 it was by far the best bang for the buck. Nothing came close in features for the money.
