I want to mount a scope on my Long Branch (relax, ATI scope mount, no drilling involved). I'm looking for a good scope that looks the part of an Enfield sniper scope so I can complete my make believe sniper project. Any recommendations?

Scope

There can be only one.
Here's a Leupold M8 2.5x compact on my fraudulent T project.
They may not be in production nowadays and you may have to try to snag one on the EE or eBay.

I bought the clone with the pads already mounted from the EE.
There was a gippo scope on it and I put on the Leupold instead.
The cheek piece came from Bassano Bob.

A Weaver K2.5 or K3 would look as well as that Leupold. Some of the older ones can be found with a post-and-crosshair reticle. (2.5x is the correct magnification.) The real scope, the No.32, has its saddle and turrets further forward in the tube than any modern scopes I've seen, so much so that they would be ahead of the foward clamp in the mount.

I saw those pads and rings on ebay last week. Not cheap, but look perfect.

I just got my pseudo sniper back today. Used the Weaver one piece base and the tip off rings. 3 holes drilled. Rifle has a non-matching bolt, so not realy much value, so was a candidate for project. Got wood cheek piece from Numrich Arms. Nice wood for about $25.

I've had this 2.5x Ruko ( German) for a few years that hasn't failed me yet.
It's been on a couple of No4's and has been used for hunting as well as the range.
I have it sitting on a No5 now , fitted up on a S&K. Found it for $20 at a local gunshow ;)

As of late , I've had this "thing" for Lyman 2.5x scopes . This one is on a '43 Longbranch ( post / crosshair) ,mounted with a B-Square . It's held up quite well and , with abit of luck , will be bearing down on a Whitetail this fall.

Timberlord, that's a leather strap-on cheek piece in the middle photo? Where did you get it? I wouldn't mind adding a scope with an ATI mount, but I don't want to drill holes in the stock for a cheek piece.

Thats a repro M1D Garand cheekpiece from Numrich.
Another alternative is to buy an extra butt stock and attach a wood cheekpiece to that...thats what I've done for my LB

Timberlord. I see the safety is on, but the rifle is not cocked.

I was once told that the saftey should only be turned on if it is cocked and using it with the bolt closed can break the safety. I don't know if this is true or not.

I don't see how it could harm the rifle in any way. I'm pretty sure it was designed to take it.

This #4 mk2 wears a S&K mount with a Nikon 1.5-4.5X20 scope

This #4T also has a S&K mount with a Weaver 2.5 post and crosshair - This looks nice I think.
