I recently picked up a Vortex Diamondback 4-12X40 AO with the bdc reticle for my rimfire from SFRC. Nice clear optics and good repeatability on the turrets. It seems to be well made for the price.
So sighted in my ns522 today equipped with my tasco target varmint 6-24x42 and am pleased with the scopes performance and the guns performance. The gun is a little heavy with it weighing In at 8.6 lbs but I can manage to get it steady enough off hand to hit a swinging target.
This was my first time using a mildot reticule and I used it to calculate my range to 25 yards well actually 25.5 yards. The scope didnt come with a great manual but I found out online the mildots are accurate at 8x zoom.
I used Winchester 222 22 lr, which had a few feeding issues with a few bent casings and misshapen bullets. But enough with the taking here is the target. Note I did 5 5 shot groups.
I think I could do better next time I pulled a few times. But top left is my best group and bottom right is close if you ignore the top flier which I pushed the gun up when I shot it. Also when I was shooting I had about a 90% FTE as both extracters were seized. After shooting this group I used wd40 and unseized both extracters and had 0 FTE after.
All in all really happy with the rifle and scope and am sure I could get even better groups if I controlled my breathing better and used higher quality ammo.
