Scope for rimfire rifle

Theoretically you are right, but practically the same is seldom not so with parallax. The same reason cited for not having it (quick shots) are also the same reason making it a necessary adjustment. I shoot rodents from 10y and up with the same 22: Parallax error at 10y is enough with the tiniest of head movements to be a miss on small rodents. If specifically shooting rodents at such short distances I'd normally use an iron sighted rimfire or airgun but seldom would I carry both. You are 100% correct about learning consistent cheek to stock placement but unless one shoots off the same bench and chair, different positions and conditions always impose different alignment... especially in hunting.
 
Not to push an opinion , just if you want to spot your
own shots further than 50 mtrs. get a scope with at least
18 - 20 power .
You won't require a spotter , spotting scope
or camera .
That works for me ..
